For a place that’s supposed to be barren, desolate, foreboding, and austere, the desert has a surprisingly large amount going on in it.
There was tons of color, great lighting, and interesting geology, and that’s apart from the standard “desert” photos like this one.
I was torn, though, on whether I was more interested in close-up stuff, or larger, more environmental shots.
The salt pan at Badwater was pretty cool …
And the devil’s golf course looked great as a foreground:
But one of my favorites was the sunrise that almost didn’t happen because of all the dust that got kicked up overnight by the wind.
